We created Mesh as a place for you to bring your best self. Here, you can grow, learn and build your community. While our communities are independently run, we have some ground rules to help Mesh stay safe and open for you and for everyone.
Community moderators are the pillars of every Mesh node. We trust them to make their own rules and lead their nodes in a way that best supports their members.
However, our Ground Rules always come first. When conflict is escalated to the Mesh team, we will prioritize the spirit and letter of Mesh Ground Rules.
There are so many places on the internet where you can be a jerk. Mesh isn’t one of them. Here, we are supportive of one another, act in good faith and are open to others.
If you disagree with someone, don’t do ad hominem attacks. If you want to get angry and argue, do it somewhere else. Or better yet, step away from the phone and take a walk.
We consider it a community responsibility to keep ourselves and others safe. If you see someone being harmed, harassed, or abused, report that conduct to a community leader or to Mesh.
If you notice that someone is being unsafe, privately contact community leaders to flag it with them. If the behavior continues and community leaders aren’t addressing it, report them to Mesh.
Mesh has a zero tolerance policy for unsafe behavior. If someone is being hurt, we act immediately. If it’s not clear that the behavior is harmful (a.k.a. grey area), we give the benefit of the doubt.
If users are engaging in patterns of harmful behavior, we will ban them from Mesh. If a user has been repeatedly reported or banned from multiple communities, we may also ban them from Mesh.
Trust is the foundation of our communities. Use your real name or a nickname if you can.
Parody community accounts are fine, as long as it’s a public figure or celebrity. Obviously, do not impersonate private citizens. That’s just not cool.
